Mr. Flanigan is available as a presenter. Each workshop, presentation, or seminar is designed for the specific needs of the client and can be developed for a variety of topics related to mental health and well being. Similarly, they may range in format from a 50- to 90-minute lecture to a highly interactive dialogue in which skills related to a specific topic are learned or to facilitation of a discussion of particular topic of interest.

Presentations are engaging lectures designed to provide information on a particular topic. They are usually presented to large groups (over 20 people) and consist primarily of a lecture style that involves audience participation. This is the most formal format and can be the most efficient in relaying specific facts and concepts.

Workshops are geared to groups of 5-30 people and take the form of interactive mini-courses which focus on specific skill development or self-improvement through increased self-understanding. Workshops involve an integration of lecture and participation in specific activities related the topic and incorporate group counseling techniques. Workshops are ideal for acquisition of new skills-beyond the acquisition of facts and concepts-because participants will practice the skills during the course of the workshop.

Workshops may also focus on the individual and involve activities aimed at self-discovery, followed by a discussion at how this self-discovery may be useful in improving one's life. Workshops are typically one to three sessions and are conducted on-site at the business or organization.

Seminars are an intensive examination of a specific interest within a facilitated discussion. Seminars have greater flexibility in format and are intended for small groups (5-15 people). Seminars may involve specific guided activities or prior readings in order to promote ideas and facilitate conversation. Rather than just the dissemination of information or skills acquisition, seminars are designed to facilitate in-depth consideration and original thought about a topic, which may in turn lead to better problem-solving skills concerning that topic.

''There are countless studies on the negative spillover of job pressures on family life, but few on how job satisfaction enhances the quality of family life.'' - Albert Bandura

Presentations, workshops, and seminars are designed to increase personal and organizational functioning. Improved personal functioning leads to overall increased happiness and may in turn lead to improved physical health, increased job satisfaction, and improved work performance. Similarly, improved organizational functioning often improves interpersonal interactions, increases productivity, and reduces conflicts, in addition to improving the overall functioning of the individuals within the organization.
